Srinagar, Feb 6: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah on Sunday termed the passing away of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar a hue loss to the country.
While expressing her grief and sorrow, Mehbooba Mufti said, Lata ji’s passing away is a huge loss to the country.She said "we all grew up listening to her melodious voices and no words will suffice to express the grief we feel."
Condolences to her family & millions of fans all over the world, Mehbooba further added.
Omar Abdullah while paying tribute to the legendary singer said, My earliest memories of music are of my father playing songs from movies like Aandhi, Sargam, Noori and Guide sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
"My earliest memories of music are of my father playing songs from movies like Aandhi, Sargam, Noori & Guide. These soundtracks have never dropped off my list of favourites.
Along the way I added movies like Karz, Kabhi Kabhi, & Asha. There will never be another #LataMangeshkar RIP," Omar said in a tweet. |
