Citizen has right to decide dress code: Farooq Abdullah | | | earLY tIMES rePORT
Srinagar, Feb 13: Former J&K chief minister and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said that every person has a right to decide whatever they want to wear or eat unless it poses threat to the unity of the country. "The country is equal to everyone. You have the right to wear, to eat, to do unless it is not against the integration and fundamental rights of the country," the NC chief said while talking to the reporters at Pulwama in South Kashmir. He had gone there to attend a condolence meeting of his party worker. In the wake of hijab row, he said some extremist elements are trying to create a divide in the society on communal lines. He said everyone has his/her own religion and those who are attacking a religion are few "fundamentalists" who are trying to divide the people on religious basis so that they could win the elections. "One day will come when 'Almighty' will finish this hatred among them," he said. "I feel there is good news that India and Pakistan relations are going to be better," he said. "I feel both the countries will adopt the friendship to end the hatred," he added. The delimitation report is totally wrong and we are making our proposals report ready which will be submitted to the commission before February 14, the veteran leader said.
