Udhmapur : UEED renders Court Road shopkeepers in lurch

Udhampur, Feb 13: The shopkeepers at Court Road in the Udhanmpur town here today staged a protest demonstration against the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) for leaving road dilapidated after completing sewerage pipelines work.
The protesters claimed that one and half year back UEED started work of laying sewerage pipes in the town and broke the roads for that purpose.
They further said that after repeated requests the road was temporarily repaired after two months after the work of laying sewerage pipes was over.
“Now that the road is not properly re-constructed, it has increased our problems,” the protesting shopkeepers maintained adding that many times creates jamming situations due to not maintained proper road.
“This is the situation in the entire town and none pays any heed towards while the government claims big developments,” Vijay kumar a shopkeeper said. “About three years are over that the work of sewerage pipes laying had finished but as the road broken for the purpose has not been repaired properly yet same has made our lives a hell,” he added.
