Ways to motivate students
Vijay GarG2/18/2022 11:18:31 PM
Young brains are the future of a nation. Looking at the kind of students, one can predict the future of a nation. It is very important to pay attention to students and motivate them to work on themselves.
Here are some practiced, tried-and true strategies to get students interested in any kind of learning.
1. Nation building:
Teachers should motivate students to participate in national missions like ‘Swachchta Abhiyaan’, ‘Saksharta Mission’ or any local activity. These kind of activities imbibe sense of responsibility in social cause in students from early age. These activities should be made compulsory at school level and at home to motivate students share universal responsibilities.
2. Sense of Freedom:
With physical discipline, students should be given a sense of freedom at thought and decision level. Students should be made to participate at brainstorming sessions so that they produce new ideas for themselves as well as society. Students should be given freedom to decide what they want their future to be. Young brains are always attracted towards freedom, and they would love this teaching pattern.
3. Change the scenery:
In the monotonous study environment, it is sometimes advisable to change the background scene of study. Let the students study in an open area, under a tree, on terrace or near riverfront. These scenarios become experiences and students will always have such memories to cherish in their future.
4. Moral Training:
With any study or training, it is also the duty of parents and teachers to induce moral training in students. With so much exposure on internet, most of the students grow up their age. The moral values will help the children to differentiate between the right and the wrong and will make them strong to take their own decisions.
5. Make higher attainable goals:
Students lose interest if they know that they can survive with learning just the bare minimum. Challenges are exciting but should be attainable for students to feel excited as well as optimistic. Teachers should always be ready with challenges for student, that keeps the morale of students high
6. Out of the box topic:
To keep the zest of learning, teachers or parents should sometime teach an out of the box topic to the children.
An exciting topic of the galaxy, under the sea, wild life, psychology, a life story etc can put colors to the learning experience and students feel motivated and exciting.
