Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 1: CPI (M) leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday said that Anganwadi workers and helpers working under the ICDS scheme in Jammu and Kashmir have not been paid wages for several months. In a statement, Tarigami said these workers have been working tirelessly as most government schemes are implemented through them. "Even during the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, they have been at the forefront. These employees have to feed their families. But despite working hard, they are not paid their wages on time," he said. The central share of their wages is yet to be released for several months. "They are being denied social security benefits including promotion, gratuity, pension, Provident Fund and medical facilities," he said. |
