Widespread rain from Sunday in Kashmir Valley :MeT

SRINAGAR, Mar 3: The Meteorological department has predicted widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall in Kashmir Valley for three day from Sunday night.
Light rain and snow lashed at many places in Kashmir on Wednesday and the weather is likely to remain overcast to cloudy at most places of Kashmir and at some places of Jammu.
"Currently, weather is overcast to cloudy at most places of Kashmir & at some places of Jammu," Srinagar MeT office said.
"Current weather is likely to continue till tomorrow morning. Thereafter, the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy during March 4 and 5. Another Western Disturbance is likely to affect J&K during 6th (night) to 8th due to which we expect widespread light to moderate rain/snow( mainly over higher reaches)," the MeT said.
Meanwhile, except the tourist resort of Gulmarg, Kashmir valley recorded temperatures above the freezing point.
According to the MeT department, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.4 degree Celsius. The other tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag the mercury settled above the freezing point . The night temperature at the resort was recorded at 0.5 degree Celsius.
Qazigund in south Kashmir recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius and Kupwara district in north Kashmir recorded a minimum of 4.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was recorded at 14.0 degrees Celsius.
In the union territory of Ladakh Drass had minus 11.7, Leh minus 4.6 and Kargil minus 11.7 degrees Celsius as the night's temperature.
