"We will continue our protest until left over arrested patwari is not released" agitating patwaris say | 'Missing Revenue Records of Sunjwan, Chowadi' | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: The protest demonstration of Patwar Association Jammu today entered fourth day demanding release of their left over arrested patwari in connection with missing revenue records of Sunjwan and Chowadi. Agitating patwaris raised slogans against administration accusing it of targeting innocent revenue officials, who are not involved in the missing revenue records. "Although one of the patwari has been released on bail while another is still arrested and we demand that he should also be released immediately. The matter of missing revenue records is decades old and the administration should take action against those who were present at that time but taking action on those officials who had just joined the department is not fair," they alleged. They questioned the action taken against patwaris by arresting them. They said that without conducting an internal department inquiry, the patwaris were arrested, which is against the law. "We all worked hard to write Jamabandis but in return the government has been harassing innocent people who hardly know about the matter and joined their services recently. Fair inquiry should be conducted and main culprits should be booked," they said. |
