MUSCAT, Mar 5: The Indian table tennis women's doubles team of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee and the mixed team of Archana Kamath and Manav Thakkar on Saturday bagged silver medals as India finished the WTT Contender campaign with three medals.
In the final, Sutirtha and Ayhika lost 3-1 (6-11, 11-8, 10-12, 7-11) to China's Zhang Rui and Kuai Man. Archana and Manav suffered a 3-0 (3-11, 3-11, 6-11) loss at the hands of Chen Xingtong and Wang Chuqin of China.
Sreeja Akula and Selena Selvakumar settled for the bronze after losing the semifinal to compatriot Sutirtha and Ayhika on Friday.
Indians Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran finished their campaign empty handed as they couldn't move beyond the quarterfinals in any of their events. |
