Stephens College of Nursing observes world health day

JAMMU, Apr 16: STEPHENS COLLEGE OF NURSING (under the aegis of Dr. Aparna Educational Trust) in collaboration with SMGS Hospital observed world Health Day to discuss the theme, significance, and purpose of observing it and to cognizant the general mass to remain healthy and save our planet "EARTH". The theme of World Health Day 2022 is 'OUR PLANET, OUR HEALTH'.
Community Health Nursing Department celebrated this day under the supervision of Manoj Kotru (Administrator SCON) and the guidance of Miss Kanupriya (Assistant Professor, HOD CHN SCON). The student of B. Sc (N) 4th year along with Miss Kanupriya worked assiduously to make the event successful. Dr. Kamal Saini IPS (IGP Retd. Chairman SCON), Satvinder Saini (Director, SIPS), and Kunal Saini (Director of Stephens College of Nursing and Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences.) highly appreciated the sincere efforts of the concerned faculty members and creativity of students. The renowned and reputed doctors were the special guests who graced the occasion. They were Dr.Dara Singh (Medical Superintendent SMGS hospital), Dr.Rakesh Kumar Sharma (Deputy Medical Superintendent), Dr. Ganishyam Saini (HOD pediatrics, Dr. Amita Gupta (HOD Gynecologist and Obstetrics), Nirmal Kumari (Matron) And Pawandeep Kour (Assistant Matron). They were felicitated by Muni Dhar (Principal, SCON) for their support and collaboration towards society especially in Pandemics. She also wished everyone Happy World Health Day. She also told about the achievement of the nursing students in the tenure of their course. Muni Dhar(Principal SCON) expressed her gratitude towards them for their gracious presence in the event. She concluded by proposing vote of Thanks.
The event commenced with the welcome speech which was presented by Ritu Gupta (Associate Professor and Activity In charge SCON) which was followed by Lamp lighting and an introduction of 'World Health Day. The introduction was given by Ms. Gurpreet Kour (B.S.C. nursing) 4th year. The aim, role significance and purpose of World Health Day was explained more clearly and precisely by Artika Katal of M.sc (N)Ist YEAR and Avneet Kaur of B.sc(N) 4th year through Power Point presentation. The anchor and the speakers were also felicitated by all the renowned dignitaries.
A poster-making competition was also organized in which students made a stupendous and marvelous poster depicting the theme of "WORLD HEALTH DAY".
Angelina Burt bagged 1st position of Bsc (N)2nd year and Himanshu kundal of GNM 1st year secured 2nd position and Rashi clinched 3rd position in the competition. They were evaluated on the basis of theme, color combination. The Jury members highly appreciated the creativity of the students and the sincere efforts of the concerned teachers.
Dr.Dara Singh also expressed his views and gave a brief note on WORLD HEALTH DAY. He congratulated the Management, Faculty Members, and the students for conducting the enthralling event.
He wished everyone a HAPPY WORLD HEALTH DAY.
Manoj kotru (Administrator SCON), Muni Dhar (Principal SCON) and Kheema Peshin (Vice Principal SCON) congratulated all the winners and motivated everyone to STAY HEALTHY AND SAVE EARTH.
The programmes culminated with the reminiscence and a promise note that on the occasion of World Health Day, maximum of the people will be made aware to lead a Healthy life and save our planet earth.
