agencies CHANDIGARH, Apr 21: The teachings of humanity, sacrifice, peace, and harmony that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, Ninth Guru of the Sikh religion, had given to his disciples during his lifetime draw the same meaning even today. Stating this on Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the Sikh community has a rich and proud history. Wherever the Sikh Gurus visited and traveled in Haryana, Gurudwaras were built in their memory. Today, these Gurudwaras remind all of us about those spiritual and most revered Gurus. Khattar said Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur had refused to bow down before the Mughals and for this, he had also sacrificed his life. The Chief Minister said that he bows his head with reverence to every holy place where Guru Sahib visited and resided and that is why every Gurudwara which is dedicated to him will remain an invaluable heritage for Haryana. Haryana government is going to organize a grand state-level event on the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur at Panipat on April 24. |
