What happened to promises
5/2/2022 11:18:56 PM
Even seventy five years after Independence there are many areas in Jammu and Kashmir which lack road connectivity and people have to be taken to hospitals in a cot.
Recently a video from the Nad area in Dunga block in Samba district went viral on the internet. The video revealed that a pregnant woman had to be carried in a cot to reach an ambulance as the ambulance couldn’t reach her village in absence of road connectivity. The woman delivered the baby in the ambulance as she was unable to reach the hospital on time. Fortunately both mother and the newborn survived.
Many areas like Nad block in J&K are yet to be connected with the main roads due to one or other reason.
In case of emergency people have to lift the sick on their shoulders to reach the nearest health facility which sometimes becomes very far and a patient dies before reaching there.
There are many villages in Jammu region that have been awaiting roads for the past more than seven decades.
Whosoever has come into power in J&K during all these years has just made promises which have not been kept. After J&K’s transition into a Union Territory people were hoping that their destinies will change and the facilities they remained deprived off will reach them. But nothing has changed for them.
They used to struggle earlier also and they are suffering even today. They are asking what has changed for them. And what happened to the promises that were made to them.
Where is the revolution that was promised? Many people are of the opinion that political governments were better than the present “Babu Raaj” at least politicians used to listen to them.
As on date common people are not being even heard. The officials and bureaucrats are in no mood to listen to them.
The development is taking place on papers only while on the ground nothing much has changed. Areas like Nad are not that far away from the district headquarters. The officials just have to put in sincere efforts to make things work and execute the plans that can make the lives of people easy and workable.
