Two bovine smuggling attempts foiled; vehicle seized, 18 bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report REASI, May 10: Drive against bovine smuggling in Reasi continued as teams of District Police Reasi laid special nakas, arrested 2 bovine smugglers while rescued 18 bovines being illegally transported by them, and also seized 1 vehicle used for transporting the animals. Team of Police Post Dewal laid a surprise naka at Dewal area during checking, intercepted a bovine smuggler and rescued 16 bovines from the possession of bovine smuggler namely Ajaz Ahmed S/O Mohd Younis R/O Tulli Tehsil Chassana, District Reasi. In this regard a case FIR No. 41/2022 U/S 188 IPC, has been registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation initiated. In another incident, a team of Police Post Shajroo during surprise naka checking intercepting one vehicle Tata mobile bearing registration no. JK19-5855 and rescued 02 bovines from the possession of bovine smuggler namely Mohd Altaf S/O Barkat Ali, caste Gujjar R/O Bankoot, Tehsil Banihal. In this regard, a case FIR No. 39/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA act has been registered at Police Station Mahore against the accused Mohd Altaf and investigation initiated. Sr Superintendent of Police Reasi Amit Gupta conveyed that subordinate formations are being regularly briefed to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling, and district Police is working hard to curb this menace from the area. |
