UDHAMPUR, May 13: Government Degree College, Chenani under its NSS Unit, ‘PRAYATNA’, Psychological Counselling Cell initiated a special Yoga Program in association with Health & Medical Education Dept., Directorate of AYUSH, J&K with the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty and staff of the College. Sunil Bogal, Yoga Therapist, District Hospital, Udhampur was the Resource Person on the occasion who introduced the participants to Yoga Asanas, Kapalbhati, Pranayama, Dhyna, Sankalpa and Meditation, as per the common protocol issued by Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India. Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna stated that the purpose of the Program is to acquaint the students about the importance of good physical and mental health. She said that regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centers attention; and sharpens concentration During the feedback session, the participants said that the Program helped them to perform the yogic postures (body postures) with proper technique and they learnt the sequence and maintenance of posture for the given time with breathing synchronicity wherever it was required. |
