Srinagar, May 22: Weather remains partly cloudy with Meteorological Department forecast of widespread light to moderate rains with gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Night temperature drops below normal in Kashmir valley following rains as the forecast suggests light to moderate rains and traces during the next two days.
The MeT office forecast of widespread light to moderate rains and traces with gusty winds (40-50KMPH) over Jammu and Kashmir divisions is likely to occur Sunday.
Pleasant weather conditions prevailed as sun appeared with partly cloudy sky in Srinagar and other major parts of Kashmir valley Sunday.
Tourists on the fashionable Boulevard road on the banks of famous Dal Lake were seen enjoying basking under the sun early in the morning.
Srinagar recorded a low of 10.2 degree Celsius against 10.9 degree Celsius on the previous night. The temperature was 1.5 degree below normal during this time of the year for the summer capital.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of 2.6 degree Celsius against 2.0 degree Celsius on Saturday night, the official said and added that 6.8 degree Celsius is normal. It was 4.2 degrees below normal for the famous skiing resort during this period of the season.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway recorded a low of 7.6 degree Celsius against 7.9 degree Celsius on Saturday night.
The temperature was 2.7 below normal.
Tourist resort of Pahalgam had a minimum of 4.3 degree Celsius against 5.8 degree Celsius Saturday night. The temperature was 1.9 degrees below normal for the tourist resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 7.8 degree Celsius while frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara in north Kashmir had a low of 8.9 degree Celsius, the MeT office said.
