Jammu, May 24: GLDM Govt. Degree College, Hiranagar organized a lecture for faculty development on Learning Management System (LMS) under the aegis of IQAC of the College. The resource person on the occasion was Dr. Ashok Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Sciences and IT, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu.
Dr. Ashok Sharma presented the detailed information about the open source LMS tools and stressed on some of the best tools of LMS including CANVAS. Speaking on the same, he apprised everyone with the efficient working of the tool designed to identify training and learning gaps, using analytical data and reporting. In his presentation he took some practical examples to demonstrate that how the software keeps track of every activity of student during and after the lecture.
This training workshop shall be held in multiple phases focusing on building skills and knowledge in developing courses in a digital format. The focus of the workshop was on not only teaching the practical skills of using the learning management system platform but on the use of eLearning, its benefits, its barriers, and its applications. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College gave a brief idea about the online teaching learning systems and how these LMS tools really helped the students and teachers during the time of the pandemic. She further added that many of the corporate houses have shifted on online mode of working for better results. Parveen Sharma, Assistant Prof. delivered the vote of thanks and Ms. Priyanka Sharma Conducted the program.
