Empowering youth holds the key
Vijay Gar5/24/2022 11:16:32 PM
Reports about the government planning to disengage the Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e- Janglat and employees working under NYC schemes had brought the appointees on streets, but the J&K administration has clarified that there is no such plan.
There are reports that the employees engaged under these schemes are supposed to get permanent jobs in July and August this year.
The government clarifying the confusion has brought respite for hundreds of employees who are working under different schemes in Jammu and Kashmir.
The need of the hour is to create employment and the government needs to strive for it. The contractual employees who have been working for the past many years need to be absorbed so that they are not left to fend on their own after giving prime of their youth to the government sector.
Everyone is aware of the fact that the government cannot provide jobs to everyone but it can at least make the lives of contractual employees easy by providing them with job security.
Youth need to understand that they will have to stand on their own feet and rather than becoming job seekers they should become job providers. Entrepreneurship holds the key. The youngsters need to focus on becoming businessmen. They have to create employment for themselves as well as others.
The government needs to ensure that young adults are provided with all the opportunities and facilities to set up their own units and industries. The ones who want to set up small businesses too need to be helped.
During the past two years the Centre has provided liberal funding to Jammu and Kashmir and is helping the Union Territory in every possible way. The helmsmen need to utilize the opportunity and help the J&K youth become self reliant.
The vacant posts should be advertised and the recruitment process needs to be expedited. The recruitment agencies should ensure that the candidates are not made to wait for months for the results.
The results getting delayed put them in a dilemma. The youth who are interested in doing business should be catered to without any delay. They should be encouraged.
It can only be done by making the processes simple. The J&K Government has already set up a Single Window Clearance System to help the budding entrepreneurs but more steps are needed to help the youngsters to stand on their own feet.
