Pak-based handlers luring teenage boys to execute selective killings
6/12/2022 10:58:17 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 12: The arrest of two-hybrid terrorists by security forces on Saturday made a startling disclosure that Pakistan-based handlers are instigating newly recruited terrorists to indulge in selective killings.
Although with the timely action of security forces attempt to execute selective killings of the minority community was foiled, the new strategy of terrorists and their mentors has been exposed.
According to police two terrorists namely Irshad Ahmad Mir (23) and Zahid Bashir (18) both residents of Nehalpora, Pattan were arrested on Saturday.
Both the arrested terrorists were neither trained nor experts in handling sophisticated weapons. They joined terror ranks just some days back.
According to police Irshad Mir was reported missing from May 9 and within a couple of days, it was established that he has joined Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit.
The same is the story of Zahid Bashir, he joined LeT on May 20 only.
Reports said that instead of giving them sophisticated weapons like AK-47 rifles, terror mentors provided them with pistols and assigned them the task to execute selective killings, especially members of the minority community.
Sources said that during the last some months, terror groups are working on a very dangerous game plan by luring the teenagers and instigating them to indulge in selective killings.
As reported earlier with the timely actions of forces, two possible terror attacks were averted on Saturday in different areas of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
While the Baramulla Police arrested two newly recruited hybrid terrorists, who have assigned the task of selective killings, an IED planted on the highway, to target convoys of the security forces and the Army, was detected in time and defused. Security forces arrested two terrorists along with arms and ammunition in the Ghat Palhallan area of Baramulla district. The hybrid newly recruited terrorists of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were assigned the job to execute selective killings in different areas of north Kashmir. “The investigation into the case established that the youths had joined the LeT outfit. Inputs further revealed that the duo was tasked to operate in general area Pattan for targeting vulnerable soft targets, Panchayat members, and members of the minority community,” police said.
