He said Congress shall not be cowed down by such tactics and would fight back the repressive policies of Modi led BJP government and safeguard the democracy.
A heavy contingent of police stopped the protest from proceeding towards Raj Bhawan and protestors were taken into preventive custody and taken to district police lines.
Briefing the media persons at the site of protest, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that Modi Govt. wants to suppress the voice of opposition especially Congress leadership, as BJP cannot answer the tough questions of public importance and the failue of the Govt on various fronts.
It is Rahul Gandhi and Congress leadership which has always raised issues of youth, farmers, uncontrolled prices, large scale unemployment and recent Agnipath Scheme against youth. Congress is the strong opposition party now, so Modi Govt. is using central agencies and police against the opposition leaders.
