Health Advisory Services for Livestock starts SKUAST-Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: A team of scientists from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu under the guidance of Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor SKUAST- Jammu, Prof. J.P. Sharma has started health and advisory services especially for the livestock in Gaushalas and dairy farms in Jammu region. A roster of visits to different gaushalas/dairy farms has been prepared and the team of scientists is visiting regularly and providing on spot services. The Goshalas at Dayalachak, Kalibadi and Seva Bharti , Kerian of Kathua district were visited by scientists on 11thJune 2022. Similarly, Shri Dwarka Nath Ji Service Trust Gaushala, Sohanjana was provided health services on 20th June and Sridhara Gaushala Gadigarh on 21st June 2022. The team will be regularly providing health services to these Gaushalas/ Dairy farms in future also. More such Gaushalas/ dairy farms will be identified for provision of health services. Scientists/experts examined animals for their health status and provide advisories for regular deworming, vaccination and mineral supplementation to prevent diseases. Animals were also examined for metallic foreign bodies using Ferroscope. Expert team comprised of Dr. R.K Bhardwaj, Dr. A.K. Pandey and Dr. Dinesh Dwivedi with interns and post graduate scholars of the clinical division of the faculty. |
