NCB conducts awareness programme on drug abuse, illicit trafficking | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 24: Narcotics Control Bureau is celebrating International Day Against Drugs Abuse And Illicit Trafficking on 26 June, 2022. On this occasion awareness program on "Drugs Abuse And Illicit Trafficking" is organised at the conference hall of BBIA, Jammu on 24-06-2022 in Collaboration with Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) and Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu. While welcoming the officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu & members of Bari Brahmana Industries Association Lalit Mahajan, President, Bari Brahmana Industries Association in his presidential remarks appreciated the steps taken by Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu to educate the Society about the Drugs Abuses. Lalit Mahajan also urged the member present as well as Every Citizen of Country to "SAY YES TO LIFE NO TO DRUGS". During the awareness program, Rajesh Kumar (Zonal Director NCB) highlighted effect of Drugs in life & the offences as per Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1955 under which Possession of Narcotic Drug even in small quaintly for personal use is an offense, Cultivation of narcotic drug crop like opium, cannabis etc. without permission is an offence, illicit manufacture, sale , purchase and transportation of narcotic drug is an offence, Trafficking of drug such as Heroin, Charas & Cocaine etc in commercial quantity is non-bailable offence and can lead to imprisonment up to 20 years and fine up to 2 Lakhs and Death Penalty can be imposed for repeated offenders. Mohd. Nawab (Superintendent NCB), briefed about the ways one can avoid the use of Drugs & live a healthy life. About 100 participants from different Industries participated in the awareness program. Rajesh Kumar (Zonal Director NCB) thanked Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) for organising this awareness program in Jammu. While interacting with the participants, Satish Kaul, President, JK Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's Association expected that every individual will be benefited by avoiding the Drugs. Several other dignitaries like Ajay Langar, Vice President, BBIA, Rajesh Jain, Secretary, BBIA, M.C. Sharma, Plant Head, Fil Industries & other prominent industrialist participated in the Awareness Program. Ajay Langer, Vice President, Bari Brahmana Industries Association presented the vote of thanks. |
