2 smugglers arrested, 4 bovines rescued by police | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 24: District Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 04 bovines and arrested 02 Bovine smugglers in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a Police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty near Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal, intercepted load carrier Auto bearing registration No. JK02CW/7526 for checking. During checking the vehicle, 02 bovines were found laden inside the said vehicle without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner. The driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Arif S/o Gulam Rasool R/o Baran Tehsil Kot Bhadwal District Jammu has been arrested. In this connection, a case FIR No. 95/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal. In an another similar incident, a Police party of PS Ghagwal rescued 02 bovines at Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal which were being transported illegally in a Tata Mobile bearing Regd. No. JK11F/3474 with the arrest of accused driver namely Mohd Safil S/o Mohd Azam R/o Badhoon Tehsil and District Rajouri. In this regard, a case FIR No. 96/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started. All the bovines mentioned in above incidents were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicles used for transporting the bovines were also seized. It is worthwhile to mention here that District Police Samba has taken stringent steps to curb the bovine smuggling and in this regard Samba Police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, IPS, has registered 80 FIRs during the past six months in which 490 bovines were rescued, 69 accused arrested and 73 vehicles got seized. |
