| DC Reasi reviews implementation of FRA, other Tribal Welfare Programmes | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, July 2: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Rights) Act, 2006 commonly known as Forest Rights Act.
A comprehensive discussion was held on the provisions of the act during which the concerned authorities briefed the chair about the current progress and position of the FRA claims.
After taking a thorough review, the DC emphasized dissemination of awareness among the beneficiaries in their vernacular language and directed the officers to work in coordination for effective implementation of the Act meant for the welfare of tribal communities.
The DC asked for imparting skill training to tribal youth to enhance their skill and the same shall be subsequently employed in various sectors, specifically in the dairy sector under Mission Youth. Moreover, the DC also took a holistic review of other similar schemes and programmes launched for the overall socio-economic welfare of tribal communities.
DFO Reasi Jyotsana, ADC Abdul Star, ACR, ACD, SDM Katra, besides various other district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
