Early Times Report SAMBA, July 23: In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. First Aid training need to become part of a larger culture of safety within workplaces. Following the trend Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organised a first-Aid Training Programme for the employees of Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd. at SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, District Samba . The training was inaugurated by Gajendra Kumar, Vice President Manufacturing, Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd and co-ordinated by Rajesh Kumar, DGM Engineering. During the training, Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officer, Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist along with Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, IRCS Jammu Region apprise about do's and don'ts in situations like injuries, snake bites, accidents, fire incidents, electric shock, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), etc. Practical demonstration keeping in mind how to handle fainting and unconscious patient, CPR/ Choking, transportation of injured person was done with active participation of the officers. Emergency technique of handling bleeding of the patient, Fracture/accident prone patients was also demonstrated. In the last session, Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Joginder Kumar conducted the exams of the participants. Gajendra Kumar thanked the whole team of Red Cross and told their employees how this training is going to help them for the rest of their lives and how they can while performing their normal duties also become a hero by applying the knowledge of first-aid acquired by them during any kind of mishaps.
