Srinagar, July 24: The dead body of a tourist was recovered after a month of his drowning in Tarsar Lake in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Sunday, official said. They said the dead body of Dr Mahesh Kumar who was from Haldiwani, Uttarakhand, who had drowned in the Lake on June 22, was recovered near Liddarwat area of Pahalgam. The family of Dr Mahesh has been informed and after medico-legal formalities the body will be handed over to them. A group of 14 people including 11 tourists and three guides were sightseeing near Tarsar Lake on June 22 when they fell into the lake while crossing a makeshift bridge which was washed down by strong water current. One of the guides identified as Shakeel Ahmad, a resident of Gagangeer Ganderbal, besides Dr Kumar perished in the incident. The dead body of tourist guide, was recovered the following day after hectic efforts by rescue teams.
