Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26: The Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM), Jammu declared Navlekhan Tej Puraskar- 2021 in favour of young writer Naresh Kumar Khajuria for his collection of Hindi poetry, titled 'Pita Ke Khel'. A cash of Rs. Eleven thousand is given as award and a citation conferred in the memory of Late (Sh.) Tej Bhan Gulati, with the support of his family. It may be mentioned here that this award has already been conferred on Kunwar Shakti Singh, Sumeet Sudan and Kajal Suri, coincidently all of them in the field of poetry. The entries received for condiration for the award for 2021 included the books submitted by Alka Sharma (Akaakshein), Sofia Jangral (Baatein Kuchh Dil ki) and Rajeshwar Singh Raju (Jharokha).
This year, the award was declared on the basis of decision of majority vote of the nominated jury consisting of Kiran Bakshi, a prose writer, Dr. Adarsh and Shyam Judeja (both of them poets). According to the jury, the poetry of Naresh Khajuria has its own kind of phraseology. His poetry is simple and conveys the expressions with ease. His themes revolve around the issues of love, Nature, societal and political concerns. His short poems in the collection are associated with love memoirs, partition, and a feeling of presence in the absence of a beloved. The craftsmanship can be seen in the use of diction in his poetry.
Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President, HSM- J, in a press communication declaring the result, informed that an award giving function would be held on the occasion of the forthcoming Hindi Diwas. She thanked and appreciated the writers who submitted their entries for the award and the jury members for their laborious work in judging the books. She also extended gratitude towards Naresh Gulati, former General Secretary of Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM) for sponsoring the annual awards, regularly.
