This year, the award was declared on the basis of decision of majority vote of the nominated jury consisting of Kiran Bakshi, a prose writer, Dr. Adarsh and Shyam Judeja (both of them poets). According to the jury, the poetry of Naresh Khajuria has its own kind of phraseology. His poetry is simple and conveys the expressions with ease. His themes revolve around the issues of love, Nature, societal and political concerns. His short poems in the collection are associated with love memoirs, partition, and a feeling of presence in the absence of a beloved. The craftsmanship can be seen in the use of diction in his poetry. Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President, HSM- J, in a press communication declaring the result, informed that an award giving function would be held on the occasion of the forthcoming Hindi Diwas. She thanked and appreciated the writers who submitted their entries for the award and the jury members for their laborious work in judging the books.
