Jammu, July 31: A sibling died in a mud house collapse on Sunday morning in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that rain-triggered flash flood hit the mud house in village Payaal.
They said the siblings namely Isaq Ali,5 and his sister Rajina,2, children of Mashoor Ali, were inside the house at the time of incident.
"They both were buried under the debris. The bodies have been recovered from the site," said police.
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Kumar reacting to the incident, tweeted, "the loss of innocent lives due to house collapse in Billawar is extremely unfortunate and tragic. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Directed district administration Kathua directed to provide necessary assistance to the affected family." |
