Joy of abrogation of Art 370 vanishes into blue: Shiv Sena
8/1/2022 11:07:34 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 1: The joy that was seen on the faces of the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the abrogation of Article 370 has vanished into the blue due to the careless attitude of the government towards public issues for the last three years. Therefore as a result of Govt's anti-people policies being pursued post abrogation Shiv Sena, which observes August 5 as " Sampuran Vile divas" Complete Merger Day, has decided not to celebrate the third Anniversary of the historic decision this year. The information was given by the party's Jammu and Kashmir Unit chief Manish Sahni during a press conference held at the party's central office here today.
Sahni said that the Central Government and the BJP have taken full political advantage of the decision by propagating falsehood to the whole country on the situation in Kashmir.
As such the people feel betrayed and have no reason to celebrate with their miseries having multiplied.
Shiv Sena Chief said the killing of innocents in Kashmir as part of target killings besides rising unemployment in J&K has destroyed all the happiness due to the despair prevailing among the youth. The fact remains that for the last three years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are waiting for restoration of state status and democratic process that has not happened till date. There are five MPs as the representative of the people of J&K, among whom both the MPs of Jammu division are from the BJP and one is a Union Minister, but despite all this, the voice of Jammu and its issues, including the return of statehood does not resonate in the Parliament.
"Before 2019, Jammu and Kashmir, which was one of the eight states of the country on prosperity, is now rapidly moving towards poverty. Unemployment remains at its peak in the state. The candidates waiting for jobs by appearing in various examinations are in great despair due to cancellation of notifications and delay in recruitment." Sahni said. In the city of temples, there has been abundance of liquor shops and bars and new ones have been opened in almost every street and square, due to which the youth is getting attracted towards intoxication, he lamented.
Sahni said that the Hindutva rage of the ruling BJP is also nothing more than a sham. "The number of toll posts for local and outside devotees visiting Mata Vaishno Devi has been increased from one to three. Temporary employees of various departments are continuously protesting for their demands, the youth are on the streets disappointed due to lack of employment, the demand for holiday on the birthday of the last Maharaja Hari Singh of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, which became an integral part of India, has not been fulfilled till date," he regretted.
At the same time, Kashmiri Hindus and Jammu-origin reservation category employees, fearing the targeted killings in Kashmir Valley have been protesting in Jammu for several weeks, demanding to be shifted to safer places, but the Govt has turned a deaf ear towards the genuinely protesting voices, Sahni alleged. "The claims of massive investment and development in the state are not visible anywhere at the ground level and in such a situation it would be meaningless to rejoice the 3rd Anniversary of the Article 370 and 35A abrogation" he asserted. On this occasion president mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber, Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice president Sandeep Bhagat, President Kamghar Raj Singh, Secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Rajesh Handa, Joint Secretary Jyoti Devi, Parveen Gupta, Shashi Pal, Dimple and many others were present.
