Jammu, Aug 4: A three day Inter – Regional Kabaddi Tournament 2022 commenced here today at University of Jammu, Indoor Gymnasium Hall, Jammu. Eleven teams from various Regions of POWERGRID are participating in this tournament. The participating teams are Southern Region-I (SR-I), Southern Region-II (SR-II), Eastern Region-I (ER-I), Eastern Region-II(ER-II), Western Region-I (WR-I), Western Region-II (WR-II), North Eastern Region (NER), Northern Region-I (NR-I), Northern Region-III (NR-III), Corporate Centre (CC) and the host region Northern Region-II(NR-II). The matches in the tournament are being conducted on league cum knockout basis.
The tournament began today with a grand opening. The tournament was inaugurated by Kailash Rathore, Executive Director (NRTS-II) in the presence of Shiv Jyoti Sharma Sr. GM(C&M), Sham Sundar Choudhary, Sr.GM (Commercial), Vinod P Baxla, General Manager (HR). K.V. Sampath Kumar, GM (Finance) and other officials of POWERGRID, University of Jammu and J&K Sports council. In the matches played today, NR-II and WR-I were toping their pool with two wins each whereas NR-I with three wins topped pool B.
