Jammu, Aug 5: On 4th August 2022, 41 girls of Pinegrove School, Dharampur of classes VIII and IX, along with Ms. Jamuna Singh Eco Club Coordinator and Science teachers, Ms. Shikha Thakur and Ms. Aanchal Arora participated in the highly gratifying Tree Plantation drive. The children found the short, beautiful trek to Mandodhar, Kasauli Road insightful as the accompanying teachers explained the different flora to them. Furthermore, it was a great privilege to plant saplings alongside Hon’ble Mr. Dhanvir Singh Thakur, SDM, Dist. Kasauli who greatly encouraged the children with his enthusiastic participation in the momentous drive. In collaboration with the Forestry Dept. and Kasauli Administration, 150 saplings of the precious North Indian Rosewood (Sheesham), the gorgeous Blue Jacaranda and the Indian gooseberry (Amla), were planted with utmost joy and inexpressible awe. The Forestry Dept. provided the children with refreshments. It was an uplifting and great learning experience where the children were not only sensitized towards Mother Nature but also added to the Himachal wealth with invaluable meraki. ‘Trees are indeed sanctuaries.’ |
