J&K Vidvat Parishad constituted to promote mutual harmony among all sects, preserve Indian Vedic culture

JAMMU, Aug 7: For the preservation of Indian culture, Sanskrit and Vedas in the Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir Vidvat Parishad has come into existence.
Addressing a news conference here President and Convener of the J&K Vidvat Parishad, Padmashri, Prof Vishwa Murti Shastri said, "J&K Vidvat Parishad is affiliated with Kashi Vidvat Parishad, Varanasi. The main aim of the parishad is to promote mutual harmony among all sects and preserve Indian Vedic culture."
He stressed on the need to preserve Vedic culture, expansion of Kashi Vidya Parishad and sought the support of the people of J&K.
Prof Shastri said, "The J&K Vidvat Parishad will establish schools for the subjects of Vedas, Dharma Shastra etc, to make arrangements for comprehensive reading, to attract the attention of the general public while maintaining the pedantic tradition prevalent in Sanskrit."
He said, "The parishad will answer the questions, objections and curiosities related to Vedas. It will make the Indians aware about the invaders and growing influence of the western civilization in the country. Pandits will be sent across the country for the promotion of Sanskrit and culture in the country."
Prof Shastri said, "The parishad will establish unity in the defense of Indian culture by establishing harmony among all the sects. Will work towards resolving all the cultural problems of the country by calling upon the scholars of the country on a platform to maintain Indian unity, integrity, sovereignty itself, writing, publishing, publication of manuscripts, publication of magazines and establishment of printing institutions on behalf of the Vidvat Parishad."
He said that eminent scholars of the country will be honored with titles. "The parishad intends to establish libraries, reading rooms and schools related to Sanskrit culture. It will provide scholarships to poor orphan children and will turn the residence of scholars into guest houses to keep the Indian culture intact," Prof Shastri added.
The Jammu and Kashmir Vidvat Parishad office bearers are: Pawan Shastri ji (President of Jammu Yatri Niwas), Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Prof. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla ji, Dr. Surendra Shastri, Dr. Chandramouli Raina and Hansraj Shastri have been appointed as Vice Presidents of the J&K Vidvat Parishad.
Dr. Prakash Shastri has been given the responsibility of the General Secretary. Dr. Shiv Prasad Raina, Shakti Dutt Sharma, Sudhanshu Sharma and Dr. Varchaskam Sharma have been appointed as Secretaries. Praveen Kumar Shastri appointed as treasurer and Sushant Shastri have been appointed as spokesperson.
Dr. Vijendra Shastri and Dr. Purushottam Das Shastri have been given the charge of organization Secretary. Abhimanyu Sharma, Shambhuram Sharma and Rakesh Shastri have been appointed as Publicity Secretaries.
