Transformational reform in the field of education | | | agencies NEW DELHI, Aug 8: Education is the right of every citizen regardless of gender or social status. It promotes a democracy that comprises a civilized and well-mannered society. Education also aids in the upliftment of economically under privileged groups and results in the creation of numerous job & employment opportunities. The growth in number of schools in India from 1947-1948 was 140794, then from 1950-51 was 230700. If we see the number of schools from 1960 to 1961 it was approximately 397400 and from 1970-71, 532500 schools was registered. We had 664700 schools in the period of 1980-81 and 792200 from1990-91 the after a decade it had a big leap from 2000-01 ut was 97100 and 1399300 were in year 2010-11. Now after covid year 2020-21 a record number of schools were built which were 1509036 in numbers. Education sector has seen rapid growth in terms of number of schools from year 1947-48 to 2020-21 with regard to national education policy 2020, it lays out a compelling ambitious agenda for education NEP 2020 aims to increase the gross enrolment ratio in higher education including vocational education from 26.3% (2018) to 50% by 2035. The policy proposes the revision and revamping all aspects of the education structure including its regulation & governance the new education policy (NEP) 2020 was approved by Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narinder Modi and it is a policy formulated by GOI to promote & regulate education in India. The policy covers elementary education to higher education in both rural and urban India. |
