Terror supporters cut to size

Despite being banned 3-years ago, the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami is still collecting funds in the name of charity for the terror activities.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently conducted raids in Jammu and Doda districts in terror funding cases. The raids were carried out after getting vital clues during questioning about the involvement of Jamaat activists in the terror funding cases.
Parties like Jamaat-e-Islami were instrumental in fuelling terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir since 1990. Jamaat preached separatism and sedition in JK for three decades.
Jamaat-e-Islami and other separatist parties were banned after February 14, 2019, suicide attack at CRPF convoy in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district which left 40 jawans dead.
After the attack the government tightened its noose around the Pakistani stooges active in the Valley and ensured that they were cut to size. The secessionist leaders who were responsible for orchestrating street protests, sponsoring shutdowns were booked under the relevant sections of the law and put behind bars. The terror funding channels were choked and the crackdown was launched against the elements responsible for adding fuel to the fire by financing the activities inimical to peace.
The recent NIA raids are an indication that a few elements are still active in J&K and are trying to somehow keep the conflict alive by funding the terror activities. But the steps that have been taken during the past three years have dismantled the terror echo and support system. The security agencies have acted tough against the terrorist supporters and have ensured that the ultras don’t get support from any side.
The steps taken by the Centre during the past few years have brought a remarkable change in the ground situation. The shutdowns, stone-pelting and street protests have become a history in Kashmir so have the parties like Jamaat.
The security agencies are working hard to end the terrorism in J&K and till date they have achieved phenomenal success in their endeavors. But still they are a few black sheep who are dancing to the tunes of their masters sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) and are making attempts to foment trouble.
However, situation in J&K has changed as the terror supporters are finding it hard to survive.
