GDC Vijaypur organises awareness rally, quiz competition

VIJAYPUR, Aug 11: Government Degree College, Vijaypur organised an awareness rally on "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 th glorious year of Independence. The aim of the rally was to aware and spread the message of Har Ghar Tiranga - Ghar Ghar Tiranga among common masses and to encourage people to bring Tiranga home and also to inculcate the feeling of oneness among all. The rally was flagged off by worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan and she stressed upon the importance of National Flag, its code and also discussed the role of freedom fighters for their contribution in the freedom struggle.
Students used placards with slogans to bring awareness among the community about Independence Day and raised slogans of nationalism and patriotism. The rally was initiated from the college premises and passed through the public areas of village Tarore where students performed Nukkad Natak to aware masses regarding the importance of National flag and Independence day. Refreshment was also distributed among all the participants of the rally. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convener NSS) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cultural Committee) and co-coordinated by Renuka Kundal (HOD Political Science). Others who accompanied the rally were Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Sonia and Dr. Bandana Khajuria.
National level Quiz Competition on the theme "National Flag and its code" was also organized in which students from various Universities and Colleges enthusiastically participated in the online Quiz. The first position was shared by Waqar Choudhary and Mohd. Asid of Sem VI of GDC Mendhar, second position was shared by Amjid Hussain and Irtaza Ahmed of Sem VI of GDC Mendhar and Ashish Chauhan of DCRUST University, Haryana while third position was shared by Shuvam Mankotia of PG Sem II, Deptt. Of Hindi, University of Jammu, Aziba Manwar and Tofiq Ali Khan of Sem II of GDC Mendhar. The consolation prize was shared by Supriya Slathia of BA Sem VI, Sheetal of BA Sem IV, Kavya Charak of B.Com Sem II of GDC Vijaypur and Archana Devi of BA Sem II of GDC Marh. Merit certificates were awarded to winners and E-certificates to all those participants who secured more than 75 percent in the Quiz.
The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convener NSS) and co-coordinated by Renuka Kundal (HOD, Political Science). Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan congratulated all winners and participants. She further congratulated all the staff members for organizing such events on the theme "Har Ghar Tiranga" that inculcates feeling of Patriotism and oneness among all.
