Raksha Bandhan, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched at Batote | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Aug 11: Indian Army on the side-lines of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and also celebrated the Raksha Bandhan festival with local school children and villagers today in Batote of Ramban District. In view of the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Indian Army has celebrated this with locals and conveyed heartfelt greetings for this unique bond of love between brother in arm and sister, where brother in arm gave assurance of protection from any eventuality. Braving heavy downpour, the programme began with the unfurling of tricolor and singing of the national anthem. On the occasion the Army officers distributed the national flags to local villagers and asked them to fly them on their house tops. Then girl students of Government Middle School, Dharmund and some local village women tied the Rakhi's to soldiers. At last, the girls excelled in Rakhi making and competition on the topic of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' organized by the Army were given away prizes. |
