Food & Drugs administration taking necessary steps to stop adulteration | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 13: Shakeel-ul-Rehman, Commissioner, Food and Drugs has laid stress on extensive drives of surveillance samplings of cereals & edible oils. He directed the divisional heads to gear the machinery and act upon the directions in accordance with the guidelines enumerated under FSSA. Madan Magotra, Deputy Commissioner Food Safety, has asked the officers of the department to complete investigations and take corrective measures including packing Labelling, simultaneously to ascertain the standard quality food items to the consumers and wipe out the substandard, extraneous & unsafe food from the main markets and in adjoining local areas. Besides, two mobile food testing vans have been utilized at Katra and Nagrota to maintain the quality for consumer safety and 58 samples of different categories of food items were tested on the spot. 80 Food business operators were made aware on the occasion.
