| Mayor distributes prizes among players | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 25: With an aim to further promote sports activities among the youth of Jammu, a two days Wushu Championship was organized w.e.f 23/08/2022 by Jammu District Wushu association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Indoor Stadium Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.
At the conclusion ceremony, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC was the Chief Guest while Vijay Jamwal SSP (Retd) was the Guest of Honor. About 350 players from different clubs took part in the two days sports event. Besides this, Ashok Jamwal Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, Rajinder Singh & Bhanu Partap both former international Wushu players and also State awardees with Sher-e-Kashmir medal, Kamal Kishore Distt. Secretary also an international Wushu player Rohit Thakyal former International players presently Wushu coach, Abhishek Jamwal an international player with NSNIS qualified coach, Sher Bahadur NSNIS qualified coach, Appu Jamwal Senior national Medalist and NSNIS qualified Coach, Madam Ashu Jamwal NSNIS qualified coach as well as other prominent citizens of Bhagwati Nagar & its adjoining localities, some parents of the participating players were also remained present there during the occasion.
1st runner up trophy was won by Khelo India Centre Jammu, 2nd runner up trophy goes to Doon International School, while 3rd runner up trophy goes to (RTMA) Club Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor appreciated the sincere efforts of the organizers as well as J&K Sports Council for organizing Wushu Championship wherein both male & female players participated and showed their talent in the field with lot of enthusiasm as our Prime Minister of India Narinder Modi Ji has already taken lot of steps to promote & Honor sports persons under Khelo India. |
