Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 31: The restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is the only way out to mitigate the sufferings of poor and hapless masses who are at the receiving end due to official apathy, said Dr. Vikas Sharma, Coordinator Jammu District Urban and Secretary Central Zone J&K National Conference (JKNC).
While interacting with youth at Sainik Colony, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that eversince BJP took over the reign into its hand, besides general public, majority of youth have totally been broken and gone into a state of desperation due to anti youth policies of the present government. He said that growing unemployment was a matter of great concern as the present regime has miserably failed to create job opportunities for the youth.
Dr Vikas said NC had always worked to provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth of the Jammu and Kashmir. Various employment schemes like Rehbar-e-Talim, Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Zirat etc were launched by the NC government.
He also said that we stand committed for secularism and social equality. He said National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
He reiterated the party's stand with respect to restoration of statehood with full powers to address the aspirations of people. He mentioned that people have suffered a lot during the last three years especially after the abrogation of Article 370, bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and downgraded of State to a Union Territory. He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Now, they want to get rid of bureaucratic rule and waiting for the popularly elected government," Dr Sharma further said. He maintained that bureaucratic rule is no substitute for the popularly elected government.
Dr Vikas said that we have standing instructions from our party President Dr Farooq Abdhulla to keep in constant touch with the people at the grass root level and take note of their problems for appropriate solution and timely disposal. Hence it is my duty to be with the public all the time and my doors are always open for the people, who can share their grievances twenty four hours, Dr. Vikas added.
