DoP organises blood donation camp at Leh | | | Early Times Report LEH, Sept 24: Department of Posts, Ladakh Postal Division in collaboration with Sonam Nurboo Memorial, Govt. Hospital Leh today organized a blood donation camp at Head Post Office Complex Lehunder'Ajadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. Superintendent of Post Offices Ladakh Postal Divisionsaid that donating blood not only keeps a donor fit but also saves lives during the times of medical exigencies. It gives a feeling of satisfaction when you donate blood. Blood donated by an individual can save upto 3 lives, stimulates blood cell production, donating blood reduces harmful iron stores, lowers the risk of suffering heart attack, and keeps liver healthy. Around 15 volunteers from Department of Posts donated blood during the camp and took pledge to make it a routine exercise as their support towards society as a concerned citizen. Certificates of appreciation were also distributed amongst staff on behalf of SNM Hospital for this noble deed and benevolent gesture of donating blood. Later, Superintendent of Post Offices Ladakh Postal Division expressed gratitude to SNM Hospital authorities for making the camp a success. |
