Workshop on food adulteration detection

Jammu DEC 16: A 2-day workshop on Food Adulteration –Detection and Prevention was today inaugurated at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu by Commissioner Secretary Science and Technology Mr Ashok Parmar.
The workshop was organized by GCW Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with J&K Council for Science and Technology in which presentations, lectures and discussions on various related issues were made.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Parmar said that government has exacted laws to check adulteration of food items and a strict implementation of such laws by the concerned authorities and awareness of the consumers about their rights is the need of the hour.
He lauded the efforts of Science and Technology department and Government College for Women for organizing such workshops.
Among others present on the occasion were Additional Director Science &Technology MrAltaf Ahmed,Nodal Officer S&T Shruti Khanna ,Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar Prof. Nalini Kohli, HOD P.G Deptt of Food Sciences &Technology Prof.Hemla Aggarwal and President Chamber of Commerce Mr Ram Sahai.
