| Heroin recovered, two peddlers arrested in Reasi | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Oct 4: Continuing Nasha Mukht Reasi Abiyaan and cracking down heavily on narcotics smuggling , Reasi Police under the overall supervision of SSP Reasi Amit Gupta, JKPS foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid at Katra (Ballini Naka) and arrested two peddlers with Heroin. During the routine checking, Police party of Ballini check post signalled one Car bearing No. JK20B 7551 to stop.
On seeing Police party the driver started acting suspiciously and tried to flee.
But acting swiftly Police party tactfully overpowered them. On questioning they disclosed their identity as Mandeep Kumar Bhullar s/o Joginder singh r/o vill. Mahmood ka mahal Ferozpur, Punjab and Rakesh Kumar s/o Lajan r/o Sherbad Teh. Katra Distt. Reasi
During checking and frisking Heroin weighing 12 grams was recovered from both of them. Both the accused have been arrested on the spot after completing all legal formalities.
Pertinently during the preliminary questioning the accused persons confessed that they were illegally transporting the contraband substance for sale among local Youth in katra town.
Further forward and backward linkages are being worked out.
In this connection a Case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police station Katra and investigation initiated.
The Arrest has been made by the Police party PCP Ballini led by SHO Katra Insp. Nishant Gupta under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Sh Kuljeet singh and overall supervision of SP Katra Amit Bhasin JKPS.
Worth to mentioned that Reasi Police booked and detained 06 notorious drug peddlers under Public Safety Act (PSA) and put them behind the bars.
Locals appreciated the efforts of Reasi Police under the leadership of Amit Gupta-JKPS SSP in curbing the menace of drug abuse from the society. |
