Students of Govt Nursing College Gangyal visits MIER | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 7: More than 67 students from Govt. Nursing College, Gangyal visited Inclusive School-Model Academy as a part of their practical program. The purpose of the visit was to make the trainees aware about the needs of students with disabilities, various teaching pedagogies, curriculum adaptions, and modifications. Dr. Rohnika Sharma, HoD UG Department not only extended a warm welcome to the students and their accompanying faculty members but also deliberated on the need and significance of inclusive education and discussed various practices that are being implemented at inclusive school. Dr. Behzad Maqbool, Associate Professor, Kuldeep Singh and C.R. Jangra, Assistant Professors MIER College made all the necessary arrangements for the visit and also accompanied the students to the inclusive school as well as the rehabilitation centre. After the visit, a documentary on inclusion of students with special needs was shown to the students which was followed by an interactive session. Dr. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal MIER College appreciated the efforts taken by the UG Department in providing meaningful experiences to the trainees and said that various stakeholders have to come together to implement inclusion. |
