Amit Sharma visits Parlanka Gypsum Mines, reviews works | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Oct 7: Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Mining Department today conducted a visit of Gypsum Mines located at Parlanka in district Ramban which are being looked after by J&K Minerals Corporation and afterwards, he took a review meeting regarding ongoing Mining Works in Ramban district. He was accompanied by Vikram K Gupta, Managing Director, J&K Minerals and Manager, JKML Parmod Khajuria and others during the visit. A first hand account of the ongoing gypsum mining was undertaken by Secretary Mining Amit Sharma alongwith MD, JKML and his team during the site visit wherein details were shared about the daily extraction, transportation, sales and supplies of gypsum from Parlanka site. It was disclosed to Secretary Mining that these gypsum mines have helped Corporation to a large extent in becoming self-sufficient in last couple of years and it has helped it in smooth conduct of routine affairs including payment of salaries, dues etc primarily through the income generated by the Corporation here. In second leg of the visit, a review meeting was taken at DC Office Complex, Ramban by Secretary Mining Amit Sharma relating to current ongoing Mining activities in the district. DMO Ramban Kulwant Singh informed that two new mining blocks, one for Gypsum and other for River Bed Mining have been recently identified in the district. While appreciating same, Secretary Amit Sharma gave explicit directions to expedite paper work of these newly explored gypsum sites in Ramban so that the pressure on Parlanka mines can be reduced to a great extent, as sole dependence for gypsum on Parlanka mines should be done away with, since Parlanka sites shall get submerged in Chenab waters after the commissioning of Sawlakote Hydel Project in the near future. Amit Sharma, Secretary Mining also discussed critical issues of Mining Sector in the district with Rajinder Kumar Khajuria, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramban and Gyas-Ul-Haq, Assistant Commissioner, Ramban especially regarding pending Land Acquisition Cases so that private lands related issues could be settled at the earliest and public could get their legitimate compensation for it. Amit also complimented Ramban Administration for always being prompt in addressing Mining related issues like repairs to bridges, exploration of blocks, etc which should continue in near future. Before culminating the tour, Mining Secretary Amit Sharma mentioned that there should be full utilisation of latest e-Governance initiative of department relating to launch of G2B2C Portal geologymining.jk.gov.in through which all transactions should happen through issuance of e-Challans only. Alongside, he advised district authorities including DMO Ramban to organise more awareness camps for procurement of mining material through e-Marketplace on this website to achieve the objectives of transparency, smoothness, comfort without human intervention. |
