Addressing issues of teachers
10/9/2022 10:57:43 PM
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has formed a committee to scrutinize the transfer cases of teachers on medical, spouse posting and security grounds. The committee would examine the applications regarding transfer and furnish recommendations for consideration by the department.
The government’s decision to form a committee to look into the issues can help hundreds of teachers who are posted in far-flung areas and are facing health, security and spouse issues.
The panel should examine all the cases so that the teachers who are facing genuine problems get the much needed respite.
For teachers to deliver it’s important for them to focus on their jobs.
If they remain perturbed it can have an impact on the students, who have to lead the society, after they complete their education.
The teacher is an important pillar of any society and he/she should be provided with all the facilities so that his/her students set an example and lead from the front.
History stands testimony to the fact that all strong nations have been built by teachers. The standard of living is directly proportional to the literacy rate. Higher the literacy rate plays an important role in developing any place or a region.
It has been seen that in the countries where literacy rate is low, standards of living are poor. The developed countries ensure that they provide the best possible facilities to teachers and make them comfortable.
The decision of the J&K Government to look into the issues of teachers can go a long way in making them comfortable and more dedicated towards their jobs.
They are nation builders as they are the ones who make doctors, engineers, scientists and others.
Their demands and issues need an early redressal and they cannot be made to wait.
Ones who are facing security issues should be transferred to safer places and the ones with health and spouse issues need to be given preference while formulating a transfer policy.
Resolving the issues of teachers should be a priority and the first move in this regard has been made. One hopes that problems of teachers are sorted out so that they can perform their duties with a free mind.
