JAMMU, Oct 9: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Jammu & Kashmir on Sunday organized a function at Kunjwani here to pay floral tribute to their beloved leader and founder of BSP, Kanshi Ram. Dr Avtar Singh Kreempuri, Ex-MP (Rajya Sabha) and Coordinator J&K was the Chief Guest and S.R Majotra, President BSP J&K presided over the function. Dr Kreempuri, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the supreme sacrifices of Kanshi Ram who toured North India to educate the masses on bicycle and on foot about their rights and how to achieve them. He also threw light on the Baba Sahib Dr B R Ambedkar contribution to the struggle to enshrine their right in the Constitution. Kanshi Ram provided a political platform in 1984 as BSP to the under-privileged classes of the society. S.R Majotra, while addressing the gathering, appreciated the role of Kanshi Ram to promote the idea of self respect. “We want to follow the footstep of Kanshi Ram who has struggled hard to pressurize the Govt to provide the Bharat Ratna award to Baba Sahib Dr B.R Ambedkar and implement the 27% Mandal Commission Report to OBC,” he said. Others spoken on the occasion include Charanjeet Chargotra Vice President, Pritam Chand General Secretary, Kuldeep Chalotra, Advocate Pawan Kundal, Tarseem Lal and Pushap. |
