Nothing unconstitutional in giving voting rights to Indians living in Jammu: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: Taking head on the opposition party leaders for opposing the move of giving voting rights to outsiders dwelling in Jammu for the last over one year, Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta said that there is nothing unconstitutional in the move and there is no need to make hue and cry. Addressing a gathering after the launch of beautification and landscaping project in Ward No 68 with an estimated cost Rs 32 lakh, Kavinder said that BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi has ensured full and final integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India and now there is no meaning of separating this part of the country from others by using old tactics. He said that the order in context with voting rights to outsiders living in Jammu for over one year is in line with the constitutional provisions and therefore those opposing the same are trying to misguide people and play dirty politics, which the BJP government will never allow to happen. Further, giving all the credit of beautiful landscaping and clean environs of Jammu City to PM Narendra Modi led central Government, senior BJP functionary said that proper vision and meaningful strategies have transformed this place from messy urban centre into one of the cleanest cities of the country. Kavinder asked the people in the locality whether they have found any difference between Jammu City of yesteryears and that of today? To this question, the local dwellers in one voice said that BJP government has done a tremendous job as far as development and beautification of Jammu City is concerned. Consequently, Kavinder Gupta figured out the number of works which the government has completed in recent past to make Jammu City a unique destination in the country which is not only showcasing the natural splendid beauty but also is fully loaded with whatever the government can to make it the most presentable city. He gave examples of green towers, wall carvings, dazzling lighting systems on Bahu Fort wall along with four Tawi bridges and above all surety of cleanliness in every nook and corner. Others who accompanied the BJP leaders include Vinay Gupta District President, Anil Kumar Corporator, Narinder Gupta, Darshan Grover, Capt Jameet Singh and Naresh Singh. Meanwhile, he also visited the house which was damaged due to fire incident at Bahu fort |
