Indian Army revives tourism in border area

Mendhar, Oct 14: There are many tourist places in Border Areas of Mendhar which have been a victim of neglect, from a long time.To promote tourism and revive such places, Indian Army, brought a tourist Group from Maharashtra to various untouched tourist spots and places of religeous importance in Mendhar Sub division of Poonch District.
Reports said that,Tourists were called by the Indian Army's Mendhar Gunners Battalion under the Ace of Spade Gunners Brigade to introduce the various tourist places of Mendhar to our country. All these tourists came from Mumbai, Nashik, Pune and Nagpur, in Maharashtra. They visited the Environment Park of the Forest Department at village Upper Dharana near the Line of Control, Ancient Ram Kund Temple, Pir Baba Chhote Shah Dargah, Buddhist Viharas in Sakhi Pir, Hanuman Temple at Mendhar and other places.
Tourist form Maharashtra Included Dr Kirtish Balpande, Dr Kiran Rajole,Dr Mugdha Jungari, Mr Rishikesh Parmar and others said that Border Area of Mendhar Sub division is a very beautiful place, but due to some reasons, it has been a victim of neglect, due to which people do not know that these places even exist in Jammu and Kashmir. They further said we express our gratitude to the Indian Army, because of whom they got the opportunity to come here, which was an amazing experience and they will further send this message to tourists all over the country, that they must come here as the atmosphere here is serene, peaceful and blissful.
While visiting these places, tourists also cleaned the environmental park and gave the message such serene beauti of nature should be protected and cherished. We have to take care of our mother nature and in return nature will keep us healthy. They also appealed the local population that whoever visits there places should make it their endeavor to keep the area clean and not spread litter. Locals of Area also interacted with these tourists. Mohammd Amin, Balram Sharma, Naseer Choudhary, Sharik Khan while interacting with the press said that all these places are untouched and beautiful but this side of Jammu and Kashmir has always been neglected by the Government of Jammu Kashmir Union territory including local District administration of Poonch, tourism department. They also requested that since now the Indian Army has taken interest to introduce these places at National level local administration should also take interst in promoting tourism in Mendhar Sector.
