Stern Message
10/14/2022 10:37:54 PM

In Kishtwar district, the Chief Education Officer placed seven government teachers, including three female teachers, under suspension on charges of impersonation.
The inquiry revealed that some employees after marking their biometric attendance in the morning left the institutions and remained absent from their legitimate duties. The CEO took a serious note of the dereliction of duties by these teachers and placed them under suspension.
The action taken against the teachers is a stern message to all the government employees that they can’t take their duties lightly and will have to follow the norms in letter and spirit.
The discrepancy was detected by the biometric attendance system. All the government employees, irrespective of which department they work in, should bear it in mind that they cannot cheat the machine and if they try to do so they will be caught.
Installation of the biometric attendance system has made the employees accountable. It notes the time when the employees enter the office and when they leave. Ones who think that they can cheat the system by impersonation are living in the fool’s paradise.
The action of CEO Kishtwar is a clear message to every employee that the government pays them for attending their office and performing their duties. Not for staying away from work. They cannot impersonate each other.
After the abrogation of Article 370, the government has taken multiple steps to improve the work culture in the offices. Besides ensuring their punctuality the helmsmen have taken major steps to make sure that the system works in a transparent manner. The officials don’t misuse their position and work with dedication. Many employees have been sacked for underperformance and other reasons. Staying away from duties is unacceptable and the other Head of Departments should take a cue from CEO Kishtwar, who has set an example by acting tough against his subordinates, who tried to cheat the system. The tough actions taken by the higher-ups have made it clear to one and all that everyone has to inculcate discipline and fall in the line. Dereliction of duties is unacceptable.
