DFCO Jammu conducts special workshop on food safety training

Jammu, Oct 20: DFCO Jammu conducts special workshop of FoSTaC(Food Safety Training and Certifcation) was conducted by Food Safety DFCO, Jammu in accordance with the guidelines enumerated from FSSAI, expediated by Commissioner ,FDA j&k at Convention Center Near Circuit House Jammu. This workshop was graced by the presence of the Officers of the Department of Hospitality and Protocol jammu mainly chaired by Joint Director H& P jammu, Assistant Director H&P jammu and from the side of Food Safety DFCO jammu Deputy Commissioner Food Safety DFCO, Jammu took the lead of the Workshop accompanied by Assistant commissioner Food Safety District Jammu and Nodal Officer FoSTaC jammu this particular workshop was organised in collaboration the empanelled Training partners NESSWO ( National Education Society and Social Welfare Organisation) in this day long workshop 50 staff members of Hospitality and Protocol Jammu were the prominent participants during the workshop the participants were imparted with the Training through power point presentations and detailed lectures /Vocal training was given by the Organisers of NESSWO and by the Enforcement Officers the Department especially Deputy Commissioner Food Safety DFCO Division jammu made elaborations at broader level with the max.coverage to the subject in the interest of Consumer Safety and practices of Cookings ,so for so good concise intents and purposes of workshop were showcased at length Over and above, different initiatives of Eat Right India like RUCO, GMP, HACCAP,.Food Fortification,Hygiene practice were emphasized to be given contemplations for the life style Modifications .Moreover, This initiative FoSTaC of Eat Right India included Basic course and for the same reason and exposure brouchers ,pamphlets and training material informative material were distributed among the participants. .As a matter of fact,there are 16 courses in three levels -Basic, advance & special .To create best Food Safety Ecosystem FoSTaC has been termed as Mandotary and persons successfully trained shall be called Food Safety supervisors who in turn will train other Food Handlers .
FoSTaC has been designed by FSSAI to fullfill its mandate under section 16(3) of FSSA 2006 .This Training is to develope skill & technology to make Food Industry more efficient and adulteration & risk free, it was also explored that this requirement is proppsed to be made mandatory in a phased manner .During the training purpose of Hygienic and sanitary practices and adequate storage conditions including temperature maintenance were also imparted by the wake of Demonstartions .
FoSTaC is to maximise the knowledge and awareness of Food Safety Regulations and polices to ensure Food safety and Hygiene. It was also pronouned that it will be in perpitual manner and apprised that the Curriculum and contents for the training have been created Centrally.
Expressing concern over the implemention of Eat Right challenges & its benefits to the public in General including wellness,social behavior & exploration of theme to the society through staff members reg.the dietic concept /slogan Tora kum tail,chini aur NamakEat Right, Eat Healthy and Eat Fortified.
Overall the objectives of the FoSTaC were elaborated which incluslively listed to bring behavioural changes and inculcating to culture of Food Safety across the UT and to create improved environment of Self Compliance to Food Safety and Standards.At the end of the workshop healthy interactive question answer session was held with a forethrough approach & to follow the Food Safety Act,Rules,Regulations .
Besides, Deputy Commissioner Food Safety DFCO, Division Jammu expressing significance of the workshop said that today’s day long interactive session will set a paramountic mechanism for the betterment of our daily life Food habits and innovation therein. He also shared that during the prevalent season of the festivities accross the jammu Division today in every nook and hook vigorous inspections are being carried out by the Department of Food safety DFCO and morethan 12 Samples of different categories of Sweets lifted for analysis under the FSS Act and to strive for the best outcomes to quell the simmering around thwarts of Adultertion and malpractices Rs.57000 was imposed to the defaulters during the Adjudication under the Act.In a nut shell,the Department is committed to discourage the defaulters and propell the Society towards a Healthy Nation.
