Pak can’t be relied upon
10/23/2022 10:38:02 PM

After anti-money laundering watchdog FATF removed Pakistan from its “grey list,” India reminded the world that it should ensure that Pakistan continues taking credible, verifiable action against terrorism.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said: “It is in global interest that the world remains clear that Pakistan must continue to take credible, verifiable, irreversible and sustained action against terrorism and terrorist financing emanating from territories under its control.”
After FATF had put Pakistan in “Grey List” the country was forced to take some action against well-known terrorists, including those involved in attacks against the entire international community in Mumbai on 26/11.
India’s cautious reaction to FATF’s decision to remove Pakistan from the “grey list” was on expected lines as New Delhi is aware of the fact that Pakistan cannot be relied upon as it continues to support terrorism covertly.
Intelligence agencies have been continuously warning that terror infrastructure in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is intact and the terrorists are waiting to infiltrate into this side.
Pakistan exiting FATF “grey list” doesn’t mean that the neighbouring country will stop supporting terrorists and would give up its obsession with Kashmir. Since August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to revoke J&K’s special status and divided it into two Union Territories—terror bosses sitting in Pakistan have been making desperate attempts to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces haven’t allowed the terrorists to succeed in their nefarious designs and have kept them under check during the past three years. Despite Pakistan being in the FATF “grey list” it kept on supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Now, It’s off the list and Pakistan’s actions need to be watched.
India is aware that Pakistan continues to support the terrorism and won’t give up so easily. The world needs to watch the actions of Pakistan and ensure that it mends its ways. If it continues to support terrorists and the terrorism it can create a war like situation as India has already made it clear that terrorism is unacceptable and if the neighbouring continues with its activities then it won’t be left with any other option other than launching a final assault against the terrorists operating from PoK. Ball is in Pakistan’s court and it has to decide what it wants, war or peace.
