DG CRPF reviews operational preparedness in Kashmir | | | EArly Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 3: Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Dr. Sujoy Thaosen, on Thursday visited Kashmir where he reviewed the operational preparedness of the paramilitary force, the spokesman of the CRPF said. This was Thaosen's second visit to Kashmir after he took charge as 37th DG CRPF, the largest Central armed police force mandated to provide internal security in the country. On Thursday, the DG CRPF commenced his visit from 130 Battalion of the Force at Awantipora, Pulwama in south Kashmir Ops sector where he interacted with them and also inspected the arms workshop and the signal Company. The DG lauded the hard work of personnel,? a CRPF spokesman said. The DG Thaosen then proceeded towards Banihal-Qazigund road tunnel where he was briefed about the security scenario. He also reviewed ROP (Road Opening) and other deployment along NH-44, the spokesman said. During his visit the DG also interacted with the officers and Jawans in Sainik Sammelan. He commended their hard work and commitment to duties, and shared a meal with them in the Badakhana (special meal) at Transit Camp Qazigund, 163 Battalion CRPF. South Kashmir districts in November witnessed two gunfights that left four militants including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander and a Pakistani dead.
